Community Rules
Last updated
UniPath works best when everyone is honest, respectful and careful with each other's information. These rules cover how we treat each other, academic integrity (including AI) and acceptable use. They apply to students, parents, counsellors, teachers and school staff.
1.Be honest in your applications
- Enter real grades, test scores, activities and awards. Don't make things up or exaggerate.
- Upload real documents. Never change a transcript, certificate or letter.
- Universities can cancel an offer if they find false information, even after you arrive.
- Teachers: write recommendation letters yourself and describe the student truthfully.
2.Academic integrity: your work is your own
Your essays should tell your story in your words. It's fine to get help, as long as the ideas and the writing stay yours.
- Don't copy essays, or parts of them, from other people or the internet.
- Don't let anyone else, a parent, tutor or friend, write your essay for you.
- Feedback from your counsellor or teacher is welcome. Rewriting by them is not.
- Follow each university's own rules on outside help and AI. Some are stricter than ours.
3.AI feedback is guidance, not a ghostwriter
UniPath's essay feedback and essay assistant can point out weak spots, ask good questions and suggest ideas. Their answers are guidance only. You must write your own essays. Use the AI like a coach:
- Do: ask for feedback, use its questions to think deeper, compare its ideas with your own.
- Don't: paste its text into your essay as if you wrote it, or ask it to write the essay for you.
- AI can be wrong or generic. You decide what to keep.
- Students have 10 AI requests per 7 days, up to 8,000 characters each. Plan them for when you need them most.
4.Keep your account yours
- Don't share your password or let someone else use your account, including friends, siblings or parents.
- Parents have their own accounts. Ask your school for a parent invitation instead of signing in as your child.
- Sign out on shared or school computers.
- If you think someone used your account, change your password and tell your counsellor or us.
5.Be kind in chat and comments
- Be polite and patient. Counsellors support many students, and students are often under pressure.
- No bullying, insults, threats, hate or sexual content.
- Don't share other people's private information, screenshots of their work, or their messages without permission.
- Chat is for school and university topics. For emergencies, contact your school or local services directly, not UniPath chat.
6.What counsellors and parents can see
So there are no surprises:
- Counsellors and school admins at your school can see your profile, applications, essays, documents, reports and the messages you send them. That's how they help you. If your school has no counsellor, a school admin or teacher sees the same.
- Linked parents can see their own child's progress, such as applications, deadlines and meetings.
- Other students can't see your profile or your work.
- The public sees your portfolio only if you publish it.
Counsellors and admins: use student information only to support students with their studies and applications. Don't download or share it for anything else, and remove access for people who leave your school.
More detail is in the Privacy Policy.
7.Acceptable use
Use UniPath only for school and university planning. Please don't:
- try to see accounts, schools or data that aren't yours;
- pretend to be someone else, or use another person's account;
- upload viruses, or files you don't have the right to share;
- send spam, adverts or chain messages;
- copy the university list in bulk, scrape the site, or use bots;
- overload the service or look for weak spots in it.
If you find a security problem, tell us privately at yuldashovulugbek0@gmail.com instead of testing it further.
8.How to report a problem
- Something wrong in chat, or someone breaking these rules: tell your counsellor or school admin first.
- A problem with a counsellor or your school, a security issue, or anything you'd rather not raise at school: email yuldashovulugbek0@gmail.com.
- Wrong university information: tell your counsellor, or email us with the university name and what's wrong.
Say what happened, when, and who was involved. We read every report and reply as soon as we can. If someone is in danger, contact local emergency services first.
9.If rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we or your school may give a warning, remove content, limit features, or suspend the account. Schools may also apply their own discipline rules. These rules are part of our Terms of Service.
